High-end Gold Coast property team Michael Willems and Robert Graham of Ray White Prestige have notched up $56 million in auction sales since January as luxury buyers move to upgrade their location.
Nearly $18 million of that total was achieved in the past month alone by the duo, comprising properties in prime beachfront and riverfront locations such as Hedges Avenue, Cronin Island, Paradise Waters and the TSS Precinct.
Andrew Bell, CEO of the which incorporates Ray White Prestige, said sales momentum continued to build at the luxury end of the property spectrum as cashed-up buyers took advantage of current pricing levels ahead of an inevitable upturn.
“The volume and pace of this activity is really showing the depth of buying power at the top end of the market that has not been seen for years,” Mr Bell said.
“There is now a real willingness from purchasers to act.
“We are seeing a lot of people upsizing from their existing homes to A-grade positions such as the beachfront and Main River.”
The sales occurred either before auction or under the hammer.
This year’s bumper prestige sales run follows Mr Willems being awarded the title of the Ray White Group’s number one salesperson on the Gold Coast in 2012, a title he has received on numerous occasions having sold more properties than anybody else in the city.
The highest price achieved by the Willems-Graham team this year was $5 million for a beachfront mansion on Hedges Avenue, followed by $4.055 million for a knock down home in Southport’s TSS precinct at 18-20 Korong Street.
The duo also sold a riverfront residence at 2 Wildash Street, Southport for $3.79 million, which was snapped up ahead of its scheduled auction earlier this month.
Another standout sale was achieved at auction when one of Mermaid Beach’s last traditional beachfront cottages was hammered down at $3.35 million.
The beautifully appointed residence at 237 Hedges Avenue sits on 405sqm and has 10m of beach frontage.
